Coffee Shop

Finish your visit with relaxing sit down and cuppa at the coffee shop.

Members will be very happy to discuss any of the exhibitions with you. Please feel free to ask any questions!

The coffee shop houses one of our most generous donations - a marble counter and soda fountain, which date back to the early 1900s. These were original features from the Express Café, located in Abertillery town centre.

The soda fountain was donated by John Cavaciuti in 2003 and Jane White, a regular visitor and admirer of our museum, gave us the matching marble counter in 2006. A marble conservator, Panico Theodosiou, lovingly restored the counter after we received a grant from CyMAL, the governing body of museums in Wales.

These donations show how generous and dedicated the local community are in supporting us. All we need now is the original round marble table to complete the café!
